Judges’ Comments:
I like the lines, the texture and how the diminishing light makes me curious what is around the bottom of the steps.
Way to work in that Golden Spiral!! I love how this image sparks curiosity and wonder.
The different shades of light to dark tones make this perfect for B&W. The tilted perspective also works very well.
I like the play of light in the image, the depth of field, and the contrast of the dark stairs against the bright walls. I want to know what’s above me and where the stairs might take me.
This image has the most visual impact because of the use of leading lines and the texture in the subject. The small piece of the window also adds to the overall impact of the image.
Johnny’s Comments:

Thanks very much for this honor! If anyone is interested in some behind-the-scenes information (composition, exposure, etc.) on this image I have posted some thoughts to my blog.
