Just announced at #psw13 adobe creative cloud will be priced at $9.99 per month for life! This includes Lightroom & photoshop only but that’s all I will need!
This is awesome for photographers and I think is a game changer.
Here is a link to an Adobe announcement of the $9.99 deal for PS and LR: http://blogs.adobe.com/
Please comment below will you subscribe to Adobe cc at the new reduced price ?
I don’t have a copy of PS (any version) yet so I am trying to find a legit copy of CS3 specifically so I can sign up! I have generally been anti-CC but the price is right, in this case.
I have an old cs3 I can sell you
Nick, if Tricia doesn’t want it, I’m interested in your CS3.
Hi Nick – I msged you yesterday, let me know a price 🙂
Great offer… Lightroom is a good deal but would really be interested in Dreamweaver, if there are different option packages available..
Yep. I currently have the full boat. But 99% of the time I only use LR and PS. Ican save $40!
I’m already a student subscriber to the entire suite for $19.99 a month. I tell everyone I know – it’s the only way to go!!!
That is great news!
Yep. Not much change, already in the cloud…
I may just have to jump on this.
Now that I see that I have to have CS3 or newer, I can’t take advantage of this unless I can get a copy of Photoshop for cheap.
Probably not until I absolutely have to. I like being able to work without internet, and I don’t like having to pay for something on a monthly basis.
I would rather pay it all, and have it ON my computer.
Phaedra it is on your computer, just like always
Brilliant Adobe! I can change my CC down now to the two apps I need. Thanks for the heads up!
This is excellent news!! With CC yearly subscriptions, you only need to connect to the Internet once every 90 or 180 days. They make it vey convenient to work offline for extended periods.
I’d consider it…
Dumb question, I own LR5, but do not have a paid version of Photoshop. Do I need a legit PS6 to take advantage of CC
I hate to say this but I will. I only have LR3. People like me have fallen between the proverbial cracks. I don’t even know what Creative Cloud is. I need a computer workshop. It sounds good, I think though I would prefer to pay outright for a product. I’m in the crown of “not liking payments”.
I think I’m in with the new pricing.
Mark it on your calendar – they aren’t starting this until Sept. 17th. I already talked to them about my CC “everything” subscription and he said call back then and it would be good. We’ll see.
With unlimited use that wouldn’t be bad. The original price was insanely high.
This IS the game changer to help thousands get better at editing! Wonderful news! Thanks for the post!
just curious, what is the non pre-CS owner per month cost?
That is a much better deal. Glad they wised up that most of us have no practical use for that entire suite of programs. I might even use PS more now!
That’s $60/year for each program which is probably cheaper than upgrading & you get the newest versions first.
I won’t subscribe till they force my hand. Eventually, a new computer system will not be compatible with the old PS versions. Then I will acquiesce, begrudgingly.
Did they happen to specifically spell out the proper steps on how you would migrate down from the $21/mo point to the new $9.99 point?
Adobe CC Photoshop World Complimentary subscription instructions:
This applies ONLY to those who already had a CC subscription and want to apply it AFTER their discounted one year subscription runs out. If you do not have a subscription – or are paying full price ($49.99) then ignore these directions.
Here is the scenario – we are on a 19.95 per month Creative Cloud rate through July of 2014 due to our PS6 purchase – so instead of replacing the $19.95 rate with the free credit, we want to run out our $19.95 through July 2014) and apply the free credit to the next year when the $49.95 kicks in.
To do that – DO NOT use your redeem code. If you do use your redeem code you will create a 2nd membership and it will run in parallel with your first (discounted membership) and you will waste the credit and forfeit the extension.
The adobe website is very UNCLEAR on the process and in fact, it looks very much like you are extending your membership when redeeming but you are not.
Instead, stash the redemption code – it is good for one year – when your first year discount runs out – you can redeem it then. That is the proper way to do it. This is not mentioned anywhere in the Adobe documentation – probably because they would rather you waste it.
Unfortunately, I was the guinea pig and found the wrong way to do it. I have a ticket in with Adobe – they said they will have to cancel the 2nd subscription, and re-activate the redeem code for me. PITA.
I also talked to NAPP – if Adobe won’t re-activate my redeem code, they will send me a new one.
Lesson learned. Mark Kilian
I heard the 9.99 is for 1 year, is this true? Then what happens?
I’m at work so I figured I’d check if I’ll be able to switch over to the Photograpy Photoshop subscription. I have the CS3 disk. I also have the CC CS suite for $49.99/ month yearly subscription. It just rolled over and I’m 5 months into that subscription (the $49.99). I asked if there is a penalty for canceling the CC CS suite $49.99. They said no. They said to purchase the Photography Photoshop subscription at $9.99. Then cancel the CC CS Suite. No penality far canceling mid-year. The Photography Photoshop subscription at $9.99 is the one that includes LR. Yes the subscription is for 1 year. What happens after 1 year? Only Adobe knows. I’ve been happy with the CC CS suite. I’ve had it for two years.
hmmm noticed earlier posts about buying an old CS3 disk. They asked me for serial number. If that person used it to purchase the new Photography Photoshop program. Then not sure if anyone else can use that same serial number.
Got it – the new Photoshop Photography Program – took about 5 minutes. They are sending an email with how to access and install. NOTE: They didn’t ask if I had CS3 or any of the other requirements. Looks like they check your Adobe account to verify.
