Last month I had the opportunity to use the Angler ParaSail Parabolic umbrella. I liked the shape and size of the umbrella 48 inch by 24 inch and the soft light it produced with bouncing the light into the white interior of the umbrella. I would like to have maybe two of these in my arsenal of lighting equipment. They are fantastic to use in hallways or anywhere you have limited space because of their unique shape. I could see this product being used on locations for corporate head shots where you need fast setup times and may have limited space in which to work. They would also work great in the home studio as they have the flat side allowing more height gained in a home with average ceiling heights.
Overall I was quite happy with the results and ease of use. It took only seconds to convert from a bounce light source to shoot thru by removing the black back with the silver lining. I would buy this product and also would recommend it for any photographer looking to add to his or her bag of lighting equipment. I’m including two set up shots of the product in use. One with bouncing the light and the other using the shoot thru feature. Also I’m adding some of the portraits I took with the Angler ParaSail Parabolic umbrella.
