Judges’ Comments
– I like the old world feeling of this image.
– Nice bokeh … I like the color tonality and that the Bible looks worn and used, thus showing it has been used a lot for inspiration.
– I like this photo because it shows that time was taken to create the image. In addition to that it is well shot. Great DoF and the colors complement the subject very well.
Carol’s Comments
I would like to express my gratitude to everyone responsible for voting. Thank you! Photo was taken in my kitchen in front of two large windows using natural light. Processed in Lightroom 4. I love the weekly challenges, they motivated me to be creative and practice and sharpen my skills.
Congratulations, Carol!!

Rob’s Comments
We were vacationing in San Diego and I was waiting for the sun to go down at the beach near Cardiff. I was alternating taking pictures of my kids and random people and this kid on the board caught my eye.
This was just one of those shots you take on a whim that ends up working.
Congratulations, Rob!!

– I love the simplicity of this B&W.
– Gorgeous crop, nice foreground element, and love the cotton candy water. The bw treatment really sets this up to be an impactful image.
– Strong image, simple elements.
Larry’s Comments
I love water and have long wanted to photograph the waterfalls of the Havasupai in the Grand Canyon. I finally got that chance last week.
Carrying 35+ pounds of camera gear, water and food each day we visited all the waterfalls.
Image was taken during late afternoon, full sun, variable ND filter.
Congratulations, Larry!!
