Judges’ Comments
* Like the zen-like simplicity, then as the eye travels you see the decay (vandalism).
* The lighting really makes this image for me. I also love the symmetry of the image with the staircase in the middle and the 4 lights in the ceiling.
* Great image. The broken escalator is haunting and the lighting really sets the mood. There are many stories that could be told with this one image. Well done.
Javier’s Comments

There were a lot of great submissions and thankful my image won, the eerie experience payed off after all 🙂

* Liking the sense of wonder in the faces, how the light is reflected into the faces. Engagement and protection.
* Love how you really feel in the moment in this shot, and the expressions on their faces! Great angle, also.
Bob’s Comments
I took this photo of my nephew with his son in my backyard. It was the little guys first time with fireworks/sparklers and he had no fear at all. Bumped up the ISO pretty high on this one and still managed to salvage it. My nephew really loved it and I’ll be giving the print to him. Thanks!
Congratulations, Bob!!
