Great artistic expression. Well done
Depth of field, leading lines, highlights and shadows, basics are all there – but I REALLY want to know how the shoes ended up inside the piano. =P
Fun story, like one judge said “how did the shoes ended up inside the piano”. Great textures and the lighting is just right
Very artistic photo. Good interpretation of the theme
SHANE’S COMMENT
I have always found the inside of a grand piano a fascinating and beautiful work of engineering and art. It seemed like the perfect backdrop for this shoe shot. I it the inside with a Norman 400B strobe, set to 50 watt seconds, through a small softbox, edited in Lightroom.

Bug’s Life! I like this one. The textures and patterns are interesting. Makes me kinda itchy too for some strange reason. LOL
Green life it is. The new butterfly really pops with that white/grey background.
I have to agree….the butterfly’s spots pop like “eyes”…the cocoons are cool too! 🙂
Interesting subject and great capture. Well done.
LAURA’S COMMENT
I have an affinity for butterflies and moths. This moth reminds me of a dancer. This is a Green Luna Moth that had just emerged from its cocoon.
Once again, congratulations to our two theme winners – Shane and Laura
